Delighting Movement of ACC Awards Ceremony

Cricket, Khalid Butt, ACC, Awards Ceremony

The Asian Cricket Council ACC awards ceremony here turned out to be a glittering affair except for a part where a local stand up comedian decided to use the platform to ridicule four of Pakistan`s former Test captains and Khalid Butt who has a popular comedy show on a local channel and his fellow partner on Saturday night ridiculed former Pakistani greats Inzamam-ul-Haq, Wasim Akram Javed Miandad and Rameez Raja during a comedy segment organised to entertain the dignitaries present in the ACC awards ceremony However the ridiculing of former players didn`t go well with the people and they felt it was in bad taste and could have been avoided considering it was an awards ceremony to honour the cricketing greats of Asia in the presence of top cricket officials of the world and players of participating teams in the Asia Cup. I didn`t like the part about the fun being made off the former players. It should not have happened a senior official of the ACC said and Cricketer turned commentator Rameez- however took the fun made of him in true sporting spirit asked by his fellow presenter Suchitra Pillay what he felt about the segment Rameez said It was good but in parts. The comedy show included a documentary on Rameez where fun was being made of his looks and voice. The skit also insinuated Rameez to be an ordinary player who in his career had hit 6 only due to the bowlers fault and the awards ceremony was organised by a private event management company Catwalk Productions.
