 Hugh Jackman, Hollywood, Actor, FanAustralian actor and passionate cricket fan Hugh Jackman will host the Bradman Centenary Dinner in Sydney on 27 August and the Centenary Dinner to be held at the Westin Hotel will acknowledge Sir Donald Bradmans contribution to Australian society and the role he played in shaping how an emerging nation defined itself. Mr Jackman said he was thrilled to be part of the celebration to mark the 100th anniversary of Sir Donald Bradmans birth. I am honoured and excited to be the MC for Sir Donald Bradmans centenary dinner. All Australians appreciate the manner in which Sir Donald lifted the nations sprit as it struggled through tough times and the confidence he gave it to take on the world Mr Jackman said and the evening will include the 6th Sir Donald Bradman Oration delivered by Australian captain Ricky Ponting. Ponting will be the first current international player to deliver the Oration an event which honours the career contribution and memory of the world`s greatest-ever cricketer. Sir Donald Bradman’s granddaughter, Greta Bradman, will also play a central role in the dinner. She will sing Every day is a rainbow day for me a song composed by her grandfather and written by Jack Lumsdaine in 1930. In addition to the first-class entertainment Bradman memorabilia including one of his Baggy Green caps and bats will be on display. Other entertainment during the dinner will recapture the mood of the era in which Bradman captured the hearts of Australians and the imagination of the cricketing world.
