PCB rejects Younis Khan resignation
The chairman of PCB Ijaz Butt rejected the Younis Khan resignation and asked him to carry on his national duties as a leader which he accepted conditionally, yet to confirm. Younis Khan has been appointed as captain till 2011 world cup which he demanded in his negotiations with the board.
Younis Khan tendered his resignation after the allegation of match fixing against New Zealand and Australia in champions trophy matches, due to which he was summoned by the senate sports standing committee. He took that action as embarrassing and decided to resign although he was cleared from match fixing along with his team.
Ijaz Butt had rejected Younis’ resignation during a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, saying he understood why Younis tendered his reignation. “I have not accepted Younis Khan’s resignation. There is no justification in removing him as captain.
