At Kanpur, play has been stopped due to lunch between India and Srilanka. He made  275 runs with the help of 27 four and 1 six. 

At the end of fourth day play India is playing  on 190/2, in second inning. India is behind  144 runs with eight wickets in hand. Rahul Dravid and Sehwag lost their wickets on 38 and 51 runs respectively.

Rahul Dravid has been included in an Indian squad for tri series in Srilanka and champions trophy to strenghthen the Indian middle order but it seems that Dravid was out of this kind of cricket for quite long time and he will need some time to adjust. The current innings which he played against Newzealand shows less confidence and he missed lot of balls despite no pressure on batting.

The question arises

Will he back to his form in champions trophy?

The answer totally lies how quickly he adopt the ODI cricket as it is totally different than test and domestic cricket despite he played IPL. He is an experienced player and the selection committee must have something in  mind to include him. A dejected Rahul Dravid blamed poor batting for his team`s ordinary show in the ongoing IPL but chose to keep mum on team owner Vijay Mallya`s criticism of their team selection decisions. That is true that we have not been able to click. It is disappointing. Batting has been an area of concern, Dravid said at the post match media meet. I do not want to speak publicly on the Mallya`s comments. Selection and performance are two different things and people have to perform so that the team gets on to the winning track. I will speak at an appropriate forum he said when scribes asked him about Mallya`s criticism and please do not ask such questions I do not want to comment on those things he added. Dravid said all their efforts to get a winning combination have proved futile so far and everybody expects players to perform but sometimes it does not happen. We tried so many combinations and we are yet to figure out a winning combination he said. Mallya had said that Dravid and axed CEO Charu Sharma did not let him get players he wanted. Dravid praised Australian Shaun Marsh who played a splendid knock of 74 in Kings XI Punjab`s victory. Shaun is playing well that makes a difference and sets the tone for the game. He is an exceptional talent. Marsh too is relishing his good run in the tournament. IPL is good so far and very lucky to be here and fantastic to be part of IPL. I am playing with greatest players and before packed houses. It is fantastic experience. I have never opened batting before, this is something new to me but I am enjoying every moment of it he said after getting his man of the match award. The winning captain Yuvraj Singh also praised Marsh but did not comment on Challengers poor run. I do not want to comment where they are lacking. My job is to take care of my team. I have to focus on how my team does well in the competition. He Marsh is a very good talent. It will give him confidence and we are happy for him. Very satisfying when he is doing well he said. When asked why he has not promoted himself up in the batting order, he replied IPL is not about me and hitting six sixes. It is about my team. I am more happy if team is doing well. Even if I am getting zeros and my team is doing well I will be happier.

Bangalore Royal Challengers skipper Rahul Dravid today said his team must win tomorrow against Deccan Chargers to bounce back in the Indian Premier League.  Dravid admitted that his side needs to click as a team. “The way to motivate is to challenge them (the team-mates),” he said at a press conference after practice at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here. We have got our backs to the wall. It`s great if we fight back from here,” he said. The former India captain said he still maintained that his team has got the quality and the “batting right up to number seven. We have five international bowlers in our side. So, we have got the talent and good combination. Only thing is that the team hasn`t clicked together. The last couple of games have been very close. The team needs one win to get the confidence. I hope it will come tomorrow. He said the team can`t afford to give 18-20 runs an over. “At the same time, the team needs one or two such overs when it bats to crack the game,” he said Dravid revealed that Anil Kumble will play tomorrow in place of Sunil Joshi.
