Dilshan a twinkling star of Sri Lanka Cricket

Rajkot Stadium, 15 Dec 2009, first ODI of 5 math’s series, India vs Sri Lanka, historical contest, could be called contest of the year. The high scoring match where Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field, India made 414/7 in 50 overs by the glorious betting performances of  Sehwag (146 runs with 17 fours and 6 sixes), Tendulkar (69 runs with 10 fours and 1 six) and  Dhoni (72 runs with 7 fours and 3 sixes).

After this  thrilling session of India, no one knows that this battle will be change into the battle of the year, Sri Lanka’s batsman Tilkaratene Dilshan  proved  himself  and  also, that nothing is impossible in specially cricket,  He played all around the ground marvellously without respecting of any Indian bowler and performed  his career best inning. He scored 160 runs on just 124 balls by smashing 20 fours and 3 sixes.

At one stage it was shown that the world record of  most runs in one inning for  ODI, now will be highlighting with the name of  Dilshan, but he missed a fine ball of Harbajhan Singh and dismissed before breaking that record. Tharanga made 67 runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes and then skipperSangakara batted fastest of the contest and pulled, smashed, drove precisely throughout the ground.

Besides all performances of  Sri Lanka’s brave players, specially Dilshan, who  played  with the genuine approach and positive intent for the fight of  victory, at the end of 50 overs Sri Lanka scored 411 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and defeated by just 3 runs. It was one of the high scoring matches in ODI’s.

Dream comes true India No.1 in Test Cricket

India after smashing Sri Lanka, became top on the test cricket team ranking. It was not only the dream for the players, but every nation of every country hopes to be the best in the world and  when we talk about cricket, it converts into passion, specially in Asian continents.  

India now no.1 test team in the world after beating series against Sri Lanka,  on these  historical and memorable moments  the skipper Dhoni said “  The real tough job starts,  now to maintain  this performance “.  So many ODI and test records holder the superb Sachin said ” It is fantastic to be the no.1 test team, I have been waiting a long time to get this position “.

From couple of months Indian team routed Pakistan, England, Australia, and now Sri Lanka in India as well as New Zealand out of home. These are the great victories in sense of test cricket.  Now a days when cricket becomes a game of passion, India have marvellous hard hitters and sweet timers of the ball  Sachin, Sehwag, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Gambhir,  Dravid, and when we talk about bowling, we found great spinner Harbhajan, occasionally useful Sachin and pace bowlers Zaheer, Irfan, Ishant Sharma, R.P Singh and Ashish Nehra.

Finally the world of cricket lovers congratulates India for the dazzling, committed,  professional and dominating performance, well done India.

Sachin Tendulkar the giant of cricket records

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, born on 24 April 1973, International debut 1989 against Pakistan, simply we can say the world greatest batsman of all time.

At the time of Sachin debut, he was the youngest Indian test player by the age of 16. He holds the records of most runs in ODI and Test cricket and create the most accelerating cricket for India for all time. Here we can find the few International records, made by him.

 Test Cricket Records

The highest scorer in the test history of cricket i.e. over 12000 runs with the average of 50 plus. The first Indian to reach 11000 runs in the Indian Cricket history. The highest century maker of the world. At the time of his debut he was the third youngest cricketer in the world. Sachin is the first in the cricket world to make 5 centuries before the age of  20 years.

  ODI’s Cricket Records

 The highest scorer in the ODI history of cricket i.e. over 17000 runs with average of 44 plus. The first and fastest Indian to 10000-17000 runs. The highest half century maker i.e. 91. The highest century maker i.e. 45. Sachin has been lost his wicket 17 times when he was on 90-99 runs

New test records in India Vs Sri Lanka

After the memorable test between India and Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad, cricket lovers entertained by further records which took place in KaanPur test. India won the toss and elected to bat first, openers, Gambhir and Sehwag crash the bowling line, with the help of 15 fours, Gambhir dismissed at 167 as well as his partner Sehwag made 131 with 18 fours and one six, by the help of these two players India, at the stumps, was on 417/2. It was the ever huge total in first day play by India against any team. India will start today as second day game with 417/2, Sachin is playing on 20 with Dravid who is on 85 runs.  

From Sri Lanka, Muttiah Muralitharan was the bowler who took the both openers wickets, he got two wickets for 100 runs, Muralitharan completes his 1300 wickets in International cricket.

First test between India Vs Srilanka sessions closed

In Ahmedabad,  test between India and Srilanka has been draw. This test not only creat new history of world records but left the memorable impression for both sides. In this match so many world records has been broken and so many creats, these historical moments has been closed after no result yesterday.

Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Samaraweera, P.jayawardene (WK) participates  tremendously for Srilanka as well as for India Rahul Dravid, Sehwag, Dhoni and evergreen performer Sachin Tendulkar play the vital role for their country.

India first inning : 426 runs, Srilanka 760/7

India second inning : 412/4

Sri Lanka looking for historical victory

After the fourth day play, India is  further more 144 runs behind against the huge total of Srilanka’s 760/7(dec.), this is the ever big total of any team in India in world test cricket. India won the toss and elected to bat first, after the Dhoni and Dravid smashes India set the score 426, in this connection  Srilanka  creat the history and made 760/7 (dec.) in first inning, Srilanka reach this total by the glorious century of Dilshan and then magnificent double century of Mahela Jayawardene. He made  275 runs with the help of 27 four and 1 six. 

At the end of fourth day play India is playing  on 190/2, in second inning. India is behind  144 runs with eight wickets in hand. Rahul Dravid and Sehwag lost their wickets on 38 and 51 runs respectively.

Srilanka going to creat history against India

Ahmedabad Cricket Stadium became the land of cricket record, during the test match between India and Srilanka, Mahela Jayawardene made his highest test score as 275  against India, he also break the record of  Pakistani Captain Younus Khan, 267 not out in 2005. After this magnificent performance, Mahela became the first Sri Lankan batsman to cross 9000 test runs.

SriLanka’s score is the highest score ever made by any team against India. Srilanka declared the inning with the huge total as 760 for 7, with the hope of  great historical victory because Srilanka  have never won the test in India before.

Jayawardene becomes dangerous for India

In Ahmedabad, the battle between India and Sri Lanka is now in very interesting mode, where India made over four hundred runs due to marvelous centuries of Dravid and Dhoni, in this reply Sri Lanka start the game with magnificent century of Dilshan and after him  former captain Mahela Jayawardene shows professional and responsible cricket and complete his unbeatable  sixth double century, and lift Sri Lanka in leading position.

Dilshan performed better as an opener

In Ahmedabad,  test match against India experienced Tillakaratne Dilshan said he feel and performed better at number 1 position,  he also said that open the inning has made me a better player. he struck marvellous 112 runs to lift Srilanka  275 for three wickets in reply of  India’s 426  runs on the second day game.

World Cup of Cricket, a Dream.

At the present time in world, hundreds of games are popular but Cricket is the game,  which reach on the sky in very shortly. Cricket  starts from 16th century from its origin England,  but in very short period it spread throughout the world. After the first World cup tournament played in 1975 lifts Cricket on its peak, as well as  Cricket become passion in  sub-continent such as India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh.

Except Bangladesh, three above nations has faced so many victories and  defeates. Bangladesh cricket is now grooming day by day with that enthusiasm and  full-fledge efforts.

The mega event of  cricket is World Cup, in the year 2011, the 10th World Cup Cricket  going to be held  from 1975.  South Asian countries India , Srilanka, Bangladesh will be the host of this memorable moments.  These matches will be played in this series, that 29 matches, including  one semi final and final will be hosted by India.  In Srilanka 12 matches with one quarter final and a semi final.  Accordingly in Bangladesh eight matches  will be played with two quarter finals.
