Drop Scene of Pak Kiwis series

November 11th, 2009

After lossing the ODI series by New Zealand, Pakistan loss the captain also, these words are blowming in whole country today, as per expectation Younus gives his resignation  again to chairman PCB.

Now the board hiding  the news that Younus give it by himself or taken by the board because as per Younus performance,  he made just 22 runs against Kiwis, as captain, here one thing  is very important that younis says he was not satisfy with the senior players by cordination, by behaviour  but as far as our concern,  the politics between board,  players, seniour most players are become traditional issues which is killing the cricket from Pakistan day by day.

As the world knows,  Pakistan  win  T20 World Cup in the captain ship of Younis Khan in  June 2008 in the presence of all senior players who are playing today also, but there were no miscommunication between  the players we noted, then after losing any title or match why the board and players shows that there are somthing wrong like, issues, why they shows this image of Pakistan cricket in front of rest of world.

Pakistan loss the series by New Zealand due to shame full batting performance, presure,  as well as    ir-responsible  captaincy and,  we should have to improve the above mentioned weak points,  not to blam each other, our prays and well wishes will always with the players who perform for their country and bring the flag to the top most position.

Younis Khan announce retirement from T20 cricket

June 21st, 2009

Younis Khan announce his retirement from Twenty20 cricket. The Pakistan captain said that world cup T20  glorious  World Twenty20 victory over Sri Lanka could go far to enhance cricket in Pakistan, which is struggling to attract younger generations at a time when no international matches are being played within its borders. Younis’ final act in Twenty20 international cricket was to lift the trophy that so narrowly evaded Pakistan two years prior. Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal are the leading contenders to take over the role of Pakistan 20-over captaincy. “This is my last Twenty20 game,” he said. “I’m old now for this kind of cricket.” Younis will continue to play Test and ODI cricket, and hopes he will again have the opportunity to lead his national team on home soil. The deteriorating security situation in Pakistan - highlighted by the March terror attack on the Sri Lankan team bus outside the Gadaffi Stadium - has prompted national boards and the ICC to push for Pakistan’s home matches to be played in neutral venues. Younis has previously warned that the absence of international cricket could kill the game in Pakistan and push impressionable youngsters into the clutches of terrorists. Speaking at the post-match press conference at Lord’s on Sunday, he implored teams to return to Pakistan, and expressed hope that his side’s World Twenty20 victory would help reinvigorate interest in cricket among his nation’s youth. “I am requesting to all of the countries: ‘You must come to Pakistan’,” Younis said. “Everybody knows law and order is not good but it is not our fault. Especially for youngsters, we need home series because everywhere there is no cricket in Pakistan. How can we motivate the youngsters, especially at school level and college level? I think this will be helping us build a new structure in Pakistan for our future. “How can we promote cricket to our youngsters if there is no international game in Pakistan? How can I motivate my son and my neighbours’ small children? That’s why we need cricket in Pakistan. Law and order is not good, but this is not our fault. We are suffering at the moment from these kinds of things. I think sports should be away from politics.” Younis dedicated Pakistan’s World Twenty20 triumph to his former coach Bob Woolmer, who died during the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean. “This final must go to Bob Woolmer,” he said. “He was doing good things with us in 2005 and especially my cricket. I would be very proud if he was alive and sitting with me because he’s a very nice guy and was a father figure for us. Why I am captain is because in 2005 - at that time I was not a regular player for Pakistan - he was the guy who all the time was chatting with the chairman and the selectors that Younis will be the next captain. So because of him I have became a captain. I dedicate this final to Bob Woolmer.”

Pakistan skipper Younus Khan has called the radical attack on squad buses carrying the Sri Lanka team and competition officials in Lahore “an awful act”.

Six policemen and two civilians were killed when the buses came under fire as they travelled to the Gaddafi Stadium ahead of the third day of the second Test.

Seven Sri Lankan players as well as assistant coach Paul Farbrace were injured, while fourth official Ahsan Raza is in a critical condition in hospital after being wounded.

“This is a deplorable act and it’s completely unacceptable,” Younus said.

“They were our guests and it’s awful to see such incidents happening.”

Younus said that Pakistan’s bus had travelled alongside those of Sri Lanka and the match officials on the previous two days of the Test, but had been delayed on Tuesday morning.

“We normally leave together, but today we were delayed and the Sri Lankan team went ahead of us,” he continued.

“It would have been catastrophic had both buses gone together.”

Younus added that he had spoken to Sri Lankan players after the incident and also praised their driver, who was able to steer the bus clear of the ambush attack.

He added: “They were courteous and took the incident in their stride. They merely termed it ‘a bad experience’ and they have no ill feeling towards this country.

“We are thankful that none of the players suffered fatal injuries and the courage of the bus driver must be praised.

“I heard Muttiah Muralitharan presented him with a team jersey. It was a great gesture.”

Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said his team had left their hotel but were told to turn back after going a short distance.

“We heard about the attack only when we had reached Mall road and were immediately told to return back to the hotel,” he said.

“It was a terrifying incident and we sat down together worried about the Sri Lankan players’ safety.

“We later got in touch with them and their manager

Javed Miandad resigned as Director-General of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

January 28th, 2009
Javed Miandad

Javed Miandad

Karachi, Jan 28: Unhappy over Shoaib Malik’s unceremonious sacking from the post of captain, Javed Miandad today resigned as Director-General of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Sources in the PCB have confirmed that Miandad has resigned but it was not clear if his resignation has been accepted by the Board as PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt has left for Perth this morning to attend ICC’s Executive Board Meeting starting Saturday.

Miandad’s resignation comes less than 24 hours after emergency meetings with PCB officials and former and current players resulted in Younis Khan taking over the Pakistan captaincy from Malik.

Malik’s ouster came after Pakistan’s recent ODI series defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka.

Miandad, who served as Pakistan coach thrice in the past, took over the position of PCB Director-General in November last year.

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint Younis Khan as captain of the national team after Pakistan’s humiliating defeat against Sri Lanka, said chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt.

He announced this while talking to media here at the PCB headquarters on Tuesday.

Ijaz Butt told that Shoaib Malik on the PCB request has stepped down from the captaincy after the debacle of the Pakistan cricket team in the recent home series.

Malik led Pakistan to their worst one-day defeat — by 234 runs — in the third and final one-day international in Lahore on Saturday which gave Sri Lanka a 2-1 series win.

“Malik has accepted to step down after the Sri Lanka defeat and we have appointed Younus as the new captain for an indefinite period,” Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt told reporters.

The one-sided defeat sparked a furious reaction in the cricket-mad country and the PCB asked the team management to give a report on the reasons for the heavy defeat.

The sports committee of the Senate also summoned Malik, coach Intikhab Alam and chief selector Abdul Qadir on February 9 to explain the defeat.

The 26-year-old Malik was appointed skipper after Pakistan’s first round exit from the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies.

Younus will take up the role in the two-Test home series against Sri Lanka next month.
